Who is LATAN?
The Louisiana Assistive Technology Access Network or LATAN is the 21st Century Assistive Technology (AT) Act program for the state of Louisiana.
As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, LATAN has dedicated 32 years helping Louisiana residents of all ages living with functional limitations or disabilities gain independence in their daily lives by providing access to assistive technology, including durable medical equipment, behavioral health and other rehabilitative services.
LATAN Mission
Louisiana Assistive Technology Access Network’s mission is to help people of all ages with functional limitations or disabilities to gain greater independence at work, at home, or at school.
LATAN Vision
LATAN envisions a future in Louisiana in which individuals who use AT can achieve greater independence, are more satisfied with their lives, and have greater access to their communities. LATAN strives to bring that vision to fruition each day through its AT services and community outreach.
Board and Staff Members
Consumer involvement is the key element to LATAN’s ability to know what AT needs and barriers exist in our state. Currently, the majority of LATAN’s Board of Directors and most staff members are individuals with disabilities and/or family members of individuals with disabilities. Likewise, our statewide Advisory Council is consists of AT users and family members.
